A former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State, Mr. Banji Okunomo, has dumped the party for the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP.
Okunomo, who was a governorship aspirant in the last primary election of the party, was among those presented to the PDP governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, to be picked as running mate but Jegede refused.
The politician announced his resignation from the PDP at Domfav Hotel in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. He, however, failed to state the reason for leaving the PDP.
According to Okunomo, he is said to be heading for ZLP to join forces with the former governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and Hon Agboola Agboola, ZLP governorship candidate.
He said he was leaving the PDP alongside 15, 000 members across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State at a formal declaration to be announced later.
