Ms Hancock’s body was discovered on Friday morning in a home in New Boston, about 258 kilometres northeast of Dallas, Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Gregg Williams told The Associated Press.
She was almost eight months pregnant with her fourth child.
Her baby did not survive the attack, Bowie County officials said.
Ms Hancock’s mother, Jessica, was the first to find her daughter after the horrific incident.
“We just want our beautiful baby remembered and known for the amazing person she was and for people to see she did not deserve this,” she told Fox News.
Ms Hancock announced her pregnancy on Facebook just two months ago.
In the heartbreaking post, Ms Hancock said she and her husband, Homer Hancock, were expected “another sweet baby girl”.
“She already acts like her daddy & big sister. We cannot wait for our Braxlynn Sage to be here. Daddy is definitely out numbered,” the post said,
A suspect was arrested in Oklahoma. She has not yet been identified.
Bowie County sheriff’s investigators are being assisted in the case by New Boston police, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texarkana police.
