According to the Sukur Youth Development Association’s Secretary, Lawrence Luka, Solomon Joshua was shot dead while attempting to flee the soldier’s violence and the capture of his motorcycle.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning after the parking space to Sukur,
along the Rugudum/Tiksu Road of Madagali Local Government, where Solomon
encountered his Waterloo, according to Lawrence.
Joshua, who is in his late twenties, is one of the many victims of recent military ferocity against civilians, according to him.

They met with Col Musa, the senior commanding officer patrolling the unit in Madagali and other communities, and expressed remorse for the incident, he said.
When contacted, Major Mohammed Haruna Sani, the public relations officer
for the 23 Armored Brigade in Yola, said that the command’s operations
do not extend to Madagali and that they end at Mubi.
According to him, the unit is currently engaged in Maiduguri’s Zaman Lafiya dole service.
